Mole Removal In Delhi
Moles are naevi or nevucellular skin that form on the skin. Moles are considered fashionable and beautiful in accordance to their position. But some moles are unsightly in appearance when they protrude disproportionately out of the skin and are at best removed.
Moles usually appear black or brown in colour and can develop anywhere on the body. Almost 10 to 40 moles usually appear during the first 20 years of an individual’s life. Most moles are harmless and it is rare to see any of them grow cancerous. Treatment for mole removal is cosmetic depending on its location on the individual’s body.
What are the types of moles?
There are several common and rare types of moles.
- Junctional melanocytic naevi – these are brown, flat and round
- Compound melanocytic naevi – raised, hairy and light brown
- Dermal melanocytic naevi – raised, hairy and pale
- Blue naevi – dark blue in colour
- Halo naevi – lost skin colour, mole surrounded by white ring
- Dysplastic / atypical / Clark naevi – large, has range of colours, flat or bumpy
What are our treatments?
Radio frequency Radio frequency radio surgery is an ablative technique used to effectively remove benign moles or naevi. The naevus cells are pigment cells that settle in the dermo-epidermal junction and grow over a period of time. The pigment cells cluster down to the dermis and as they mature turn into intradermal naevus. The radio frequency device is used to flatten and reshape the mole even as the blood vessels seal during the process causing no bleeding.
Co2 lasers Bothersome, non-malignant moles can be treated and removed with Co2 lasers. These lasers are considered superior as against other surgical methods adopted for removal of moles, warts and skin tags. Elevated moles have a better cosmetic treatment rates due to their raised structures. The Co2 laser is absorbed by the water in the skin, heats up the tissue and burns layers of skin scraping the mole down flatly. A pigment laser might be used after Co2 if the pigmentation is too deep.
