The thick layer of tissue which originates from the urethral orifice and encircles the vaginal orifice is called the hymen. It allows the flow of menstrual blood. Some hymens are elastic and may not tear during intercourse.
Hymenorraphy is also known as Hymenoplasty or hymen reconstruction surgery. It restores the hymen surgically. There are several causes for tearing of the hymen: it could be during intercourse or accidental tears such as whilst wearing a tampon. Sometimes hymen repair surgeries are done for religious and cultural purposes. Hymen repair is a safe procedure and is generally opted by families as a solution.
Under local anaesthetic and sedation, the torn edges are excised and then stitched back with fine dissolvable sutures. It is not considered as an invasive surgery. The hymen grafts together and heals. In case a hymen cannot be repaired, a new hymen can also be created.
Labiaplasty involves surgical reduction or alteration of the labia minora and the labia majora. Labiaplasty is also called labioplasty or labia minora reduction or labial reduction. The shape of the labia is altered due to several causes such as childbirth, aging and other conditions.
Some of the causes identified for labial reduction are
- Congenital defects – abnormalities that an individual is born with
- Vaginal atresia – vaginal passage is absent
- Mullerian agenesis – malformation of the uterus and fallopian tubes
- Tearing of labia minora during childbirth, accident or aging
- Any other functional impairment
Under general anaesthesia tumescence that is swelling of the tissues is achieved by administrating an anaesthetic solution. The pertinent labial circulatory system is constricted to limit bleeding. The unwanted tissue is then cut and stitched with fine, dissolvable sutures. A scalpel or even a laser may be used for dissection. The time taken for the procedure is about one or two hours.
G-spot enhancement is also called G-spot amplification or G-spot augmentation. Ideally called the Grafenberg spot, it is an erogenous area of the vagina which leads to strong sexual arousal upon stimulation. It triggers powerful orgasms and female ejaculation. The surgery predominantly focuses on increasing the size and sensitivity of the spot.
Local anaesthesia is administered and an attempt is made to locate the G-spot. Human engineered collagen is injected into the area under the mucosa where the G-spot is located.
